Dealing with depression, bipolar depression and other mental illnesses
50% of people dealing with depression, bipolar depression, and other mental illnesses in America don’t realize whats wrong with them and. their lives and their families lives are miserable. Unfortunately many of these depressed people commit suicide. There is help available.! I believe the Lord led me to develop this presentation we call “Can bad be Good” where Gail and I teach and give persona testimony on clinical depression, bipolar disorder, and a short look at the other mental illnesses. My desire is to share the multiple mistakes I made and how people can learn them and avoid similar problems.
Gail and I try to help the congregations or audiences see God and Jesus in my four year depression, and learn from my trials. We will expose many of the misconceptions and stereotypes about depression and mental illness as a whole. Information, brochures, advice, and prayer finishes the presentation.
Is Suffering such a bad thing?
Is Suffering such a bad thing? Have you ever suffered, or are you suffering now feeling you must have done something to be punished?
Many times it is the enemy who puts this into Christians heads. Did you know that most of the time Christians suffer is for good?
Let’s take a look at some proof of this from scripture:
In Romans 8:16 through 18 (Amplified version) – (vs 16) – The Spirit Himself (Thus) testifies together with our own spirit assuring us that we are children of God.
(Vs 17) and if we are (His) children , then we are (His) heirs also heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ (sharing His inheritance with with Him); Only we must share His suffering if we are to share His Glory.
(Vs 18) (But wqhat if that) For I consider that the suffering of this present time (this present life) are not worth being compared with the glory that is about to be revealedto us and in usand for us and conferred on us
1 Peter 4:12-18 – Suffering for being a Christian and doing good
2nd Tim 3:12 – If you desire to live a godly life in Christ, you will also suffer
1 Peter 2:19&20 You may suffer for doing good, for righteousness
1 Pet 3:14 – Even if you suffer for what is right, you are blessed
James 1:24 – Count it pure joy to go through trials and tribulations
Phil 1:29 – For it has ben granted to you on behalf by Christ not only to believe on Him, but to suffer for Him, since you are going through the same struggle you saw I had, and now hear that I still have.
2nd Cor 1: 3&4 – sometimes we go through troubles so we can help those who are going through the very same thing that The Lord took us through
Some reasons for trials or suffering:
- Original sin (Satan is responsible for all sickness, sin, and death)
- Sin in your life – Search your heart, repent and confess (1st Jn 1:9)
- Being disciplined by God – search your heart,, repent, confess
- Being pruned (John Chapt 15)
- To glory in the ressurection, you will suffer some in His crucifiction also (Rom:8:16-18)
- Job experience
- Thorn in the sidenexperience
- To glorify you Father in Heaven (why is the blind man blind?)
- To help somone go through what you have (2 Cor 1:3-4)
- persecution for doing good
- to test your faith
